A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity are chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year
As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.
The prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity also challenges traditional perceptions of color association.

A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.
For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.

What is Pantone?
Pantone is a standardized color matching system, utilizing the Pantone numbering system for identifying colors.
By standardizing the colors, different manufacturers in different locations can all reference a Pantone numbered color, making sure colors match without direct contact with one another. The most commonly referenced colors are in the Pantone solids palette.

The Pantone Solid palette consists of 1,114 colors, identified by three or four digit numbers, followed by a C, U, Or M suffix..

Originally designed for the graphics industry, the pantone solids palette is now used by a wide range of industries, and is the most commonly used palette. For example, Pantone 199 Red can be identified as Pantone 199C (C= Coated Paper), Pantone 199U (U= Uncoated Paper) or Pantone 199M (M=Matte Paper).

Count Your Blessings

Personally, its been a tough year for me -
Many of you know - my Beloved Husband Nick passed away on August 27th, 2015 ......
It's very difficult to keep a happy, positive attitude right now!

Let's All Count Our Blessings Instead of our problems....

Let's face it - 2015 has not been a wonderful year for many .
As we approach this Season of Christmas Hope and Joy - let's see if we can do something POSITIVE! As they say in Jamaica - "Bust Up The Gloomy"!!

1). Tell your loved ones that you LOVE them....why keep it a secret?

2).  SMILE at a total stranger in the grocery store

3). Stop sweating the small stuff - Life is WAY too short!

4). Road rage is at it's worst - try to have some patience and understanding for your fellow drivers out there!

5). Say Hello to your neighbors - even if you have never met before!

Anyway - it may be just a tad early for New Year's Resolutions - but I am going to try and make 2016 a much nicer, happier year for myself - every single thing in my life has changed

May your Holiday Season Be a Blessed one!
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!
